The Vice President of the Government of Cantabria, Pablo Zuloaga, has signed an agreement with the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, to create a center for refugees in the former Psychiatric Hospital of Parayas. The agreement involves the transfer of use of the 43,500 square meters of land and a €30 million investment from the central Executive. The center is expected to have a capacity of approximately 300 places, and construction works could begin this summer, as planned by the Ministry. The Parayas center is part of the new International Protection Reception Centers (CAPI), financed with Next Generation funds, within component 22 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRT).

FOREIGNERS WITHOUT LEGAL RESIDENCE IN SPAIN GRANTED ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE IN CANTABRIA

In Cantabria, a new regulation has been implemented to govern the process of applying, registering, and obtaining certification for foreigners who are currently in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria but do not possess legal residency in Spanish territory. This certification will enable these individuals to receive free healthcare services. We firmly believe that access to healthcare is a fundamental human right, and we are dedicated to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their legal status, has access to these essential services.
